1.1 VT Explorer – Overview

During the last years Automated Identification System (AIS) has become mandatory for all vessels above 300GT, tankers and passenger vessels. Each vessel transmits real time data packets about its location, course, speed, name, IMO and MMSI number, size, draught etc.

VT Explorer is a system for collection, processing and displaying real time data received by the vessels AIS transponders. The main purpose of VT Explorer is to provide real time vessel traffic data to all companies and organizations in the field of maritime business.
